Support Units - version 0.50 released!
Hello War Gamers!
Today's update has been a long time coming, version 0.50. This version contains a number of updates to support the additional units and more complex rules people have been asking for.
In particular, I am introducing three major new concepts in this version:
- Advantage / Disadvantage - this is a numerical way of adjusting how likely an event is to occur when rolling dice that doesn't require you to keep track of modifiers or look at tables to determine the result. Right now this applies to attacking only, but in future this mechanic will be used more heavily.
- Spotting - This really dovetails with the next concept, Indirect Fire, but also works independently. Now, when two of your units have Line of Sight on a target as well as each other, they can get an attack bonus.
- Indirect Fire - While no units take advantage of this rule yet, the next content-focused update will include units that are able to ignore the Line of Sight requirement when attacking.
I continue to be amazed and humbled by the support this game is getting. I'm finding it challenging to decide which great idea I want to add next! With that in mind, I posted a short poll on the Discord, where you can vote for what unit will come next. You'll have to check it out to see the results...
Lastly, I am continuing to reveal more and more about the story and setting. Again, there is more on the Discord, but here is a teaser...
That crazy bastard. Merde! I am shocked it worked. Going outside in Diving Dress, really? But yet it worked. Brassbound he was, that silly fool. But sure enough, he was able to go into town and return with nary a scratch on him. Maybe he's on to something..
